Connect

I'm really enjoying Maestro, the program in which a selection of Dutch celebrities compete to become conductor. With a real golden baton.

Why? It's about connecting on so many levels.

What I see:

  • The wannabe conductors are from “all walks of life” and everyone, despite the weekly dropout, encourages each other to the final

  • The audience shares a laugh and a tear with the candidate conductor during the performance, which is truly an exam moment.

  • And the PHILharmonic Orchestra moves, for better or worse, with the conductor, who must be able to listen, feel, time, and conduct in the moment. So that the jury and audience are ecstatic and…convinced.

And it's not just about talent. Through practice and preparation, you see candidates grow and surpass themselves. The jury becomes more supportive with each round, and the orchestra becomes increasingly captivated by the conductor.

In sales (and coaching), it's no different. Don't force it, don't pitch it, but be SINCERE...prepare, practice, listen, feel it, time it, and apply the technique. And with that, you'll draw your client into your "music" so they connect with your plan or idea.

I therefore gratefully acknowledge my clients and partners for their time, dedication, energy, vulnerability, willingness to learn, and action in 2025. I'm really looking forward to 2026. To help new (and growing) businesses take control of their businesses.

On to a new year full of sales “music”.
